Who we are
Bahtera helps leaders explore and implement Bitcoin treasury. Our team brings together an educator, a former banking professional, and a software developer, with a shared interest in helping people understand Bitcoin and make deliberate decisions.
Our work connects the questions asked in the boardroom with the practical details of policy, custody, operations, and reporting.
Across Asia
We operate in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, India, and the Philippines with a founding team and local regional partners. The regional presence helps us frame education and implementation around each team’s operating context, while specialist legal and tax conclusions remain with qualified advisers.
Why “Bahtera”?
Bahtera means an ark: a great vessel built to carry what matters through a flood. The word travelled into Malay and Indonesian from Sanskrit (vahitra / bahitra, “vessel” or “boat”) and is still widely understood across Southeast Asia, where it appears in everyday speech and in the story of Noah’s Ark, Bahtera Nuh.
That is the picture we have in mind. When the supply of money keeps expanding, savings can be diluted like land under rising water. An ark does not stop the rain; it gives people and their work a sound vessel to stay afloat. We help organisations understand Bitcoin and build that vessel deliberately, with clear policy, careful custody and named owners, before the water rises.
Understanding comes first
A treasury programme starts with a shared understanding of its purpose. We begin by listening to your team’s questions, identifying the decisions ahead, and making space for a clear discussion of responsibilities and constraints.
From there, we help translate that discussion into an implementation plan with defined owners and review points.
How we work
- Learn together. Build a common vocabulary through executive education and team discussion.
- Define the brief. Clarify objectives, stakeholders, scope, and the questions that need specialist input.
- Design the approach. Connect treasury policy with custody, operational workflows, and reporting requirements.
- Prepare the handover. Document responsibilities and the next steps your team will own.
